Grasshoppers are notoriously shy. As soon as they notice that you’ve spotted them, they will hide behind the stem of whatever foliage they are on – with only their long legs sticking out on either side revealing their presence. But not this one. He was in such a hurry to come closer that he struggled to keep his grip. I caught him just in time and he crawled up on my sleeve with such a sweet demeanor, as if to say he’d been waiting forever for me to come by and take him home.
